Join us on Saturday, December 6th, from 3pm to 4pm, as author Pam McDonald reads from her lovely book about a child and their grandmother. Little Madi watches as her grandma Patti seems to change seemingly overnight. As Madi and her family struggle with their loss, they begin to find love and hope.
Pam McDonald is a former career elementary educator. Pam developed her passion for working with kids early on in her hometown of Chicago. From volunteering in kindergarten classes at an early age to working for the Chicago Park District as a pianist during her days at Taft High School, Pam knew that her future was working with children. She continued that passion at the University of Illinois where she majored in Elementary Education, eventually moving on to the University of St. Thomas where she earned a Master's degree in Gifted Education. Along the way, she taught in a variety of school districts throughout Illinois and Minnesota. Her favorite part of the school day was always exposing her students, especially her underserved gifted students to new ideas, new books, and undiscovered authors.
